Terms of Service

Chromie ("ChronoBot", "the bot", "we") is a Discord bot that provides countdowns and reminder messages for events in Discord servers. By adding Chromie to your server or using its commands, you agree to these Terms of Service.

Chromie is an independent project and is not affiliated with or endorsed by Discord Inc. You must also follow Discord's Terms of Service and Community Guidelines.

Acceptable Use

You agree not to use Chromie to:

• Harass, threaten, or spam other users.
• Plan or promote illegal activities.
• Store sensitive personal information in event names or descriptions.
• Abuse, disrupt, or attempt to reverse-engineer the bot or Discord's API.

Service Description

Chromie may provide features such as:

• Countdowns to upcoming events in a configured channel.
• Reminder messages at selected milestones (for example: 100 days, 50 days, about 1 month, 14 days, 7 days, 2 days, the day before, and the day of the event).
• Slash commands to add, list, update, and remove events.

Features may change or be removed at any time. We may temporarily or permanently limit access to the bot for specific servers or users if needed.

No Warranty

Chromie is provided "as is" and "as available". We do not guarantee that:

• Reminders or countdowns will always be timely, accurate, or delivered.
• The bot will be online without interruption or errors.
• Data stored by the bot will be kept forever.

Do not rely on Chromie as your only reminder for critical, legal, medical, or financial deadlines.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or any loss of data, opportunities, or profits resulting from your use of or inability to use Chromie.

If we are found liable despite this limitation, our total liability will not exceed the amount you have paid directly for use of Chromie in the last three (3) months, or one U.S. dollar (USD $1.00), whichever is greater.

Termination

You can stop using Chromie at any time by removing the bot from your server. We may remove Chromie from a server or restrict access at our discretion, including if we believe these Terms or Discord policies have been violated.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the date at the top. If you continue to use Chromie after changes are posted, you accept the revised Terms.

Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains what information Chromie collects and how it is used. By using the bot, you agree to the practices described here.

Information We Receive

Through the Discord API, Chromie may receive and store:

• Server (guild) IDs and names.
• Channel IDs for the configured event channel.
• Message IDs for pinned countdown messages.
• Event details such as event names and event dates/times.
• User IDs for users who link DMs to a specific server using bot commands.

Chromie does not intentionally store general message content beyond what is needed to process commands and operate countdown features.

How We Use This Information

We use the information we receive to:

• Provide countdowns and reminder messages for your events.
• Maintain a pinned countdown message in your chosen channel.
• Allow configuration via slash commands and (optionally) direct messages.
• Monitor stability, debug issues, and improve the bot's reliability.

Data Sharing

We do not sell your data. Limited information may be shared with:

• Hosting or infrastructure providers, solely to operate the bot.
• Authorities or other parties if required by law or to protect rights and safety.

Data Retention

Configuration and event data are kept as long as reasonably needed to operate Chromie for your server. If you remove the bot from your server, related data may be deleted as part of routine cleanup.

Children's Privacy

Chromie is intended for use within Discord, which is for users aged 13 or older (or the minimum age required in their country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Your Choices

You can:

• Remove Chromie from your server at any time.
• Use the bot's commands to delete or modify specific events.
• Contact us if you have questions or concerns about your data.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "last updated" date. Continued use of Chromie after changes are posted means you accept the revised Policy.
